About Teixidors
Handwoven textiles and a social mission
Teixidors is a textile company founded in Terrassa, Barcelona, in 1983, in a city with a long textile tradition. It makes finely crafted textiles on handlooms using natural fibers such as merino wool, cashmere, yak, and linen. The company combines traditional techniques with an environmental perspective and a social commitment: from the beginning, it aimed to create employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.
Products
The collection includes several lines:
- Home: bed blankets, throws, cushion covers, and floor cushions
- Accessories: oversized scarves, shawls, ponchos, and scarves
- Baby
- Gift sets
Signature pieces include the Plaid Croquis 40th Anniversary throw (100% merino wool, €485), the Maxi bufanda Jazz wrap (100% cashmere, €485), the Thor bed blanket (100% Extremadura merino wool, €774), and the Sisteron cushion cover (100% merino wool with plant-dyed trim, €131).
Collaborations and publishing
Teixidors has developed collections with designers and brands including John Pawson, Monocle, Faye Toogood, and the Thyssen Museum. It also publishes its own journal, Trama.
How the textiles are made
The company oversees the entire process, from shearing the wool to the final finishing, and selects natural fibers based on origin and traceability. It built its own looms four decades ago and continues to make handweaving a defining part of its work.
