Communia SCCL is a cooperative based in Terrassa, Barcelona, focused on making technology more accessible and shared. It works with communities, groups, and organizations seeking digital solutions without dependence on proprietary technology, using free software and open standards.

Services

• Software, web, and desktop development: Modular, scalable applications built with open technologies for online or desktop use.
• Drupal website maintenance and updates: Management and support for websites built on this content management system.
• Technology strategy and systems: Designing systems and strategies that support collaboration and connect technology with knowledge communities.
• Training and workshops: Custom classes on open technologies and peer-to-peer approaches, helping people and organizations become more digitally independent.
• Live streaming: Recording, multichannel streaming, and technical production for in-person and online events, with integration into a client’s website.

Approach and projects

The cooperative works with research communities and promotes horizontal collaboration. It manages spaces and services including Communia PM, Moodle, Kunsido, Planet, and Videos Communia. Its own website is built with Drupal.
