KrustaGroup is a Spanish company that sells and distributes seafood internationally. It operates brands including Grand Krust, Krustasur, and Frío Condal and serves both food-service businesses and retail distribution. The company says it has more than 50 years of experience, with operations dating to 1966.

Capacity and Scale

The company reports annual seafood sales of 17,000 metric tons, equal to about 70,000 kilograms a day or four truckloads per day. Its factory in Huelva can process up to 50,000 kilograms of seafood daily. KrustaGroup says it has nine quality-control plants at origin and eight fishing grounds and aquaculture farms, with operations on five continents.

Certifications and Sustainability

The company holds food-safety and sustainability certifications, including ISO and IFS. In 2007, it received IFS Logistics certification, becoming the first Spanish company to do so. It has also earned IFS Food certification. KrustaGroup says it focuses on raw materials caught or raised in sustainable environments.

History and Recognition

Founded in 1966 as Amador Suárez S.A., the company expanded over the decades, establishing Frío Condal S.A. in 1978, Krustasur S.A. in 1988, and Krustagroup S.A.U. in 2001. In 2003, Spain's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food named it Best Spanish Food Company in the Export category. In 2023, it received the Alimental Award in the Seas category. It has also acquired a majority stake in Italian distributor Effegi Service S.p.A. to strengthen its distribution in Europe.
