Bodega Santa Catarina

A Sencelles winery pairing wine production with vineyard and cellar tours, tastings, and Mallorcan food experiences.

About Bodega Santa Catarina

A Winery Rebuilt Around Mallorcan Grapes

Bodega Santa Catarina was founded in 1984 in Sencelles by Swedish-born winemaker Stellan Lundqvist. Its early identity was shaped by his decision to plant French varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Syrah on a large scale. After the winery stopped producing wine in 2002, Lundqvist’s family revived the project in 2014 and replanted the vineyards, shifting the focus toward native and Mediterranean varieties.

From Son Aloy to the Tasting Terrace

Today the estate’s wine list includes single-varietal Mallorcan wines such as Callet, Manto Negro, Prensal, and Giró Ros, alongside blends. Visitors can follow the process from vineyard to winemaking area, barrel room, and bottling space, then taste the wines with Mallorcan pa amb oli, cheese, and charcuterie on the terrace overlooking the vines and the Serra de Tramuntana.

The visit connects the winery’s change of direction with the landscape that now shapes its wines. Rather than a tasting room detached from the land, Santa Catarina invites guests to see the vineyard and production spaces before sitting down to sample what the estate makes.
