A Segorbe foundation devoted to Max Aub
Fundación Max Aub was established on August 25, 1997, in Segorbe, Castellón, Spain. Its central mission is to support the study and promotion of the Spanish writer’s life and work.

Annual short story prizes
The foundation organizes an International Short Story Prize and a regional short story prize each year, with a jury and a public record of its decision. Winners were selected for the 39th edition, and the rules for the 40th International Short Story Prize have been published.
Recognition in the arts
On December 28, 2021, Fundación Max Aub received Spain’s Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, following a recommendation by then minister of culture and sport Miquel Iceta.
Commemorating Max Aub and the foundation
From July 1, 2022, to July 1, 2023, the foundation marked the 50th anniversary of Max Aub’s death on July 22, 1972, and the 25th anniversary of its founding on August 25, 1997, with academic events, workshops, theater, panel discussions, meetings, and special publications.

The foundation sells its own publications, including titles in the Heine series: No. 8 (2000, €15 including VAT), Hablo como hombre (No. 10, 2002, €15 including VAT), and Geografía. Prehistoria 1928 (No. 4, 1996, €10 including VAT).
