From homebrewing to a Girona craft brewery

Cervesa Moska de Girona is the commercial label of Birrart S.L., a craft brewery based in Sarrià de Ter, Girona. Josep and Sílvia began brewing at home with kits in 2002; their project later became a commercial-scale craft brewery.

Beers

The company makes its beers by hand without additives, preservatives, or chemical treatments. It says this approach preserves their flavor and nutritional qualities. The range includes:

• Moska Rossa.
• Moska Siset.
• Moska Torrada.
• Moska Tronada.

The brewery sells its beers through an online shop.

Awards and coverage

Moska has won awards at Spanish beer competitions:

• 2015: silver medal for Moska Rossa in the Czech Premium Lager category at the National Beer Championship, Fira Poblenou, Barcelona.
• 2016: gold medal for Moska Rossa in the International Lager category at the Barcelona Beer Challenge, held during the Barcelona Beer Festival.
