Fundació Els Joncs

Education, occupational services, and employment

Fundació Els Joncs is a private nonprofit registered with Catalonia's Foundation Registry under number 597. It supports people with intellectual disabilities through three services: Mare de Déu del Carme Special Education Center, an Occupational Center, and a Special Employment Center.

Programs and products

• Mare de Déu del Carme Special Education Center: a private school with a publicly funded education agreement for six classrooms.
• Special Employment Center: supports employment and social inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities. Workshops produce items sold in the center's store, including sweatshirts, stuffed animals, towels, and baby clothes, priced from €8 to €25, including VAT.
• Occupational Center: offers occupational therapy and occupational integration services.

Housing project

The foundation is renovating two buildings to create an innovative residential and recreation program.

Funding and transparency

The foundation receives grants from public agencies, including Girona Provincial Council, Salt City Council, and Dipsalut. Its news section lists designated grants and subsidies for promoting employment integration at special employment centers. It holds a transparency accreditation from Fundación Lealtad and publishes information about its board, recognitions, and reimbursement policy.
