Fomento de Transportes S.A. (Fotransa) is a carrier headquartered in Santovenia de la Valdoncina, León, Spain. It specializes in domestic and international tanker transportation of liquid food products and in cleaning and conditioning its tankers.

History

Founded in 1976, the company continued a domestic freight business begun in 1934 by D. Pascual Diez. In the 1960s, it started hauling liquid food products by tanker, primarily milk. By the late 1970s, this had become its exclusive line of business, spurred by a business group in León province involved in refining oils and fats. Fotransa then began international transport. It earned ISO 9001 certification in 2004.

Facilities and Fleet

The company has 1,800 square meters of logistics facilities with traffic, administration, and management offices, locker rooms and showers, a mechanical workshop, and a washing and steaming facility for food tankers, registration number 00118-74 under Royal Decree 1728/2007. It also operates a renewed fleet of tractors and tanker trailers.
