About Air Nubeiro

Air Nubeiro is a Galician virtual airline certified by the International Virtual Aviation Organization (IVAO). It operates across Galicia's three airports, with Santiago de Compostela–Rosalía de Castro Airport serving as its main hub. The organization describes itself as a community where flight-simulation pilots share knowledge and experience through online flights, events and in-person meetups.

How participation works

Pilots are expected to complete at least one flight a month under the NBV callsign, using either the IVAO or VATSIM network and recording the flight through Air Nubeiro's own ACARS system. The airline explains that this activity requirement reflects IVAO standards. Pilots who need a break may ask the Human Resources department for vacation status, which temporarily exempts them from inactivity notices.

Requirements and application process

Applications are handled through the airline's recruitment portal, where the requirements for each intake are published. The process has three stages:

• Submitting an application through the registration form.
• Completing a short theory test on basic aviation knowledge.
• Earning a type rating for either the A320 or B737 family.

Applicants must have an active IVAO account registered in their own name.

Resources for pilots

Members have access to an iCrew operations center for checking their account balance and planning routes, a library of technical documents and multimedia courses, and an ACARS system that records each flight. The fleet is designed to reflect real-world operations and consists mainly of medium-range aircraft. Air Nubeiro also organises regular events and tours.

Compatible simulators

The airline works primarily with X-Plane 11 or later and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or later. It says other platforms may be accommodated after consultation with the Operations department.
