Treatment and recovery in Galicia

Proxecto Home Galicia is a nonprofit based in Galicia that provides care and rehabilitation for people affected by substance use and other addictions. Its therapeutic model combines treatment programs, prevention, and support services.

The organization is connected with Fundación Monte do Gozo and has an Association of Families and Friends of Proxecto Home Galicia. Its first center opened in Santiago de Compostela, and it has since established centers and services in different parts of Galicia.

History and community events

In 2026, the organization marked the 36th anniversary of its first center in Santiago de Compostela. Its Festa da Solidariedade is another long-running initiative: the event held its 31st edition in 2025 and its 32nd in 2026 at Multiusos Fontes do Sar in Santiago, with support from the city council.

Public programs and funding

The Proxecto Home treatment and educational program for people affected by substance dependence and the residential treatment and rehabilitation program for alcohol dependence are provided in partnership with the Galician Department of Health through the Galician Health Service (SERGAS). These are public programs. SERGAS funding covers about 40% of their total cost.

The organization publishes its bylaws, audit report, annual report, and equality plan, and has an ethics channel. It also received support through the 2025 Trezeluzes Solidarity Grant Program.

Individuals and businesses can participate through volunteering, membership, donations, and the Respuesta Social Solidaria program for companies.
