Its work focuses on mental health, psychotherapy, and personality, with a specialization in Cognitive Analytic Therapy.

Clinical care

The foundation's work has four areas: clinical care, education, research, and a library. Its clinical arm, Unidad de Psicoterapia y Personalidad (UPP-Santander), provides individualized psychological treatment and specialized programs, including subsidized psychotherapy, treatment for personality disorders, integrated therapy for borderline personality disorder (BPD), and services for adolescents. It also offers therapeutic assessment and guidance (PEOT), the Serena-Mente program, and forensic psychology and psychiatry services.

Appointments with FUNDIPP director and psychiatrist Carlos Mirapeix can be requested online. The organization also offers video consultations to make therapy more accessible.

Professional training

FUNDIPP offers accredited psychotherapy training for mental-health professionals. It has agreements with institutions including the University of Deusto, the University of Barcelona, UNED, Universidad del Atlántico, the University of Cantabria School of Nursing, Hernán Cortés Polytechnic School in Santander, and the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapists (ACAT), among others.

Clinical partnerships

Clinical partners include the Department of Health and Social Services of the Government of Cantabria, Santander City Council, Fundación “la Caixa” Social Work, mental-health services in the Basque Country and Asturias, and Sociedad de Gestión y Asistencia en Salud Mental (SOGASAM SL), which manages the Psychotherapy Units and Clínica Mirapeix.

Research

FUNDIPP has research agreements with Fundación OMIE, the Basque Foundation for Mental Health Research, and the Psychiatry Service at Basurto Hospital in Bilbao.

Resources for patients and professionals

The foundation's website has a blog with mental-health news and articles, as well as self-administered screening tests for informational purposes. These tests do not replace consultation with a professional.
