Geriatric care at home

Recupera Vida provides social and health care focused on specialized geriatrics and in-home care for older adults. Its work centers on comprehensive geriatric assessment at home, a multidimensional diagnostic process that evaluates a patient’s clinical, functional, mental, and social needs to develop a long-term care and follow-up plan. The company serves Santander and nearby areas and is registered under No. 06/2017/02923.

Services

• In-home geriatric consultation: clinical, mental, functional, and social assessment in the patient’s own home.
• In-home functional recovery: medical care intended to help older adults remain at home while preserving a dignified quality of life.
• Caregiver training: instruction for family members and caregivers on addressing geriatric syndromes.

Who it serves

Services are intended for adults over 70 with acute or worsening chronic conditions; people with mental health conditions such as cognitive decline or confusion; recent postsurgical patients whose general condition has worsened after a hospital stay; people whose pain is not well controlled; and people with advanced cancer.

Clinical lead

Medical director Dr. Jimmy Flores Valderas is an attending geriatrician at HUMV. He earned a medical degree from Universidad Particular San Martín de Porres in Lima, Peru, completed geriatric residency training at the Toledo Hospital Complex (Hospital Virgen del Valle), and earned a doctorate in geriatrics from Complutense University of Madrid. He has worked as an attending geriatrician at Hospital Virgen del Valle, Hospital Virgen de la Salud in Toledo, and Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla, as well as a physician at nursing homes in Madrid. He has also served as a resident supervisor at the Toledo Hospital Complex and in the Family and Community Medicine residency program at Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla.
