Supporting business across the Canary Islands

Proexca is a public agency of the Canary Islands government that supports the region's business community. Its work focuses on two areas: helping island-based companies expand internationally and attracting foreign investment to the Canary Islands, using the archipelago's strategic position between Europe, the Americas, and Africa.

International growth for Canary Islands businesses

The agency manages several programs to support companies looking to expand internationally. Its main program, Canarias Aporta, helps Canary Islands businesses take their products or services abroad, diversify their operations, and improve their global competitiveness. It has two specialized versions: Aporta Pymes for the noncapital islands—Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Graciosa, La Palma, El Hierro, and La Gomera—and Aporta PRE for small businesses on the capital islands, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Proexca also offers training in international tenders, textile innovation, and international business practices, and takes part in trade shows and industry events to promote the Canary Islands economy.

Developing international business talent

The agency runs specialized international-business programs, including the International Business Scholarship Program, which offers hands-on experience in countries such as the United States, Brazil, Canada, Peru, China, Senegal, and Ukraine. Its goal is to develop a pool of experts who can address the needs of global markets.

Attracting investment

Under the brand Canary Islands Hub, Proexca promotes the archipelago as an investment destination, emphasizing operating costs, its strategic location in Europe, and its proximity to Africa. The agency has an international network of business-development experts across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia. Agents, facilitators, and promoters advise Canary Islands businesses and attract foreign direct investment in strategic sectors.
