Cooperative housing and shared spaces

Ecovila Sequoia is a cooperative housing and community-space project in Colònia Vila-seca, Sant Vicenç de Torelló, in Barcelona province. It combines housing with shared-use spaces and public activities, and is organized through Sequoia Coop.

Community activities

The project runs recurring initiatives, including Ateneu Popular El Bosquet and “Fem Bullir l’Olla,” a food event featuring local producers. It also hosts talks and gatherings in nearby towns, including events at Casal Boira Baixa in Manlleu, Casal de Borgonyà, and Orís Town Hall.

Funding and community backing

To develop new phases, the cooperative has taken out loans from Coop57 and launched campaigns to raise individual and collective participatory guarantees.

Site improvements

Recent work at the facilities has included completing the courtyard gate and beginning the flooring in an annex.
