Mas Les Vinyes

A working farm and cooperative

Mas Les Vinyes is a worker cooperative, Coop Mas Les Vinyes SCCL, that has managed a 25-hectare farm since 2013 in Sant Martí d'Albars, in the Lluçanès area between Vic and Berga. It applies permaculture and regenerative-agriculture principles to both production and decision-making. The main farmhouse dates to the early 14th century and is home to several family groups and volunteers, some of whom participate in the European Solidarity Corps.

Consulting, courses, and visits

• Regenerative-agriculture and permaculture consulting: efficient farm and property design, energy management, holistic livestock management, field crops, and biointensive and natural gardening.
• Training: internationally certified Permaculture Design courses, plus an online course in preserving, cooking, and food processing.
• Guided visits: the farm is a Permaculture Demonstration Center and organizes tours about permaculture design.
• Group space rental.

Food production

The cooperative sells fruit, vegetables, eggs, chicken, and pasture-raised lamb produced without chemicals, herbicides, or pesticides, with an emphasis on natural ecosystem cycles. Products are available by order and distributed locally.

Networks

Mas Les Vinyes belongs to EARA (European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture) and Ateneu Cooperatiu de la Catalunya Central. It co-founded Fundació Emprius and Associació Biorne (Permaculture of the Northeastern Bioregion) and is connected with the Iberian Permaculture Academy. The cooperative describes itself as the first farm certified in permaculture and regenerative agriculture.
