Pallet TAMA S.L. is a wood pallet manufacturer founded in 1987. It began with a four-person staff and now employs more than 125 professionals. The company describes itself as an approved EUR EPAL pallet manufacturer and says its customers include multinational companies in the pharmaceutical, chemical, paper, automotive, and food industries.

Pallets are made to each customer’s specifications. The company has its own technical department to advise on pallet selection and materials.

Certifications

The company says it was the first in its sector to earn ISO 9000 quality certification. It also holds chain-of-custody certification covering the supply chain from forest operations through pallet manufacturing and follows a due-diligence system (DDS). It has received Biomasud solid-biofuel certification for quality wood chips with moisture below 25% and no fines or oversized pieces. The company says it is working toward implementing an environmental-management system under ISO 14000.

Production Capacity

Production spans the process from logging to delivery of finished products at the customer’s facility. Pallet TAMA has more than 10,000 square meters of log storage, primarily pine—mainly maritime and stone pine—sourced mostly from nearby forests. Its own sawmill can produce more than 100 cubic meters of sawn lumber, and its nailing capacity exceeds 9,000 units per day. Five drying chambers can handle ten truckloads per week. Finished-product storage exceeds 10,000 square meters, including a 3,000-square-meter covered area. The company operates its own truck fleet and partners with carriers for locations beyond its regular service area.
