A fourth-generation Alicante almond business with farming and processing divisions serving confectionery and ice-cream makers.

About Almendras Llopis

Four generations in the almond trade

Almendras Llopis S.A.U. is an almond business based in San Vicente del Raspeig, Alicante. It traces its origins to 1923, when Vicente Llopis Espinós began shelling almonds by hand in Alicante. The company took its current name in 1974 and moved to the Canastell industrial estate in San Vicente del Raspeig. The Llopis family is now in its fourth generation.

Farming and processing

The business has two divisions:

  • Agricultural: farming and production from the field through sale, including its own facilities in Olivenza, Badajoz, under the Almendras del Guadiana name.
  • Industrial: an Alicante almond-processing plant with more than 10,000 square meters of facilities.

Exports became a focus in the 1980s, and the plant added new lines and technology during the 1990s. It works with almonds from Spain, California, Australia, and Chile.

Customers and product

Natural almonds are its core product. Its main customers are confectionery and ice-cream manufacturers that use the almonds as an ingredient in their production lines. The company says it works closely with customers’ quality departments.
