Promeba is the trade name of Productos Metálicos del Bages, S.L., a company based in Sallent, Barcelona. Since 1992, it has designed, manufactured, and distributed equipment for emergency medical transport. Its eight product lines include cot systems, stretchers, evacuation chairs, ambulance accessories, emergency supplies, cabinets, military equipment, and funeral-sector equipment.

Products and Capabilities

• Cot systems: ambulance cot loaders with electric and manual systems and track options. The PB-440 electric loader supports automatic loading and unloading, while the PB-455 series offers multiple configurations.
• Stretchers: electric stretchers, one-piece stretchers, and cot stretchers. The PC-750 electric stretcher is rated for loads up to 300 kg and works with the PB-720 track. The range also includes the PC-700 manual scissor stretcher and the PB-610/7, one of the company’s best-selling models.
• Evacuation chairs: two- and four-wheel models, including options that convert to manual or electric tracked chairs, such as the PS-251.
• Ambulance accessories: disinfectants, electric steps, and IV poles.
• Emergency supplies: rescue stretchers, immobilization products, first-aid supplies, patient transport equipment, disposable supplies, backpacks, and first-aid kits.
• Emergency cabinets: cabinets for defibrillators and Punto Angel.
• Military and funeral lines: military cot systems and stretchers; winches, stretchers, carts, electric systems, and tracks for funeral services.

Facilities and Certifications

The company has 12,000 m² of facilities where it develops, manufactures, assembles, and finishes products, allowing it to track the full process. Its in-house quality department tests products for friction, fatigue, and corrosion. Products carry EN 1789 5.3 (10G), CE marking, UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 13485:2016 certifications and come with a two-year warranty. Promeba also customizes products to meet customers’ technical requirements.

History and International Reach

Founded in 1992, Promeba describes itself as Spain’s leading manufacturer of ambulance cot systems. It created a dedicated sales department for these products in 2005 and began expanding internationally in 2007.
