Company History
Antoni Monés i Giner (1918–2010) founded the company in Sabadell in 1946. In 1959, it completed its international expansion following Spain's Stabilization Plan. In 1960, it became a leading Spanish partner and co-founded Peinaje del Río Llobregat, a contract wool-scouring and combing operation established in Manresa at the initiative of the Prouvost international group. During the 1960s, Monés Monlan carried out complex international trades for the time, including exchanges of greasy wool for wool tops with Eastern European countries. In the 1980s, it pioneered sales of European wool tops to China, and in the 1990s it established commercial and industrial operations in Hungary.
