About Fundació 1859 Caixa Sabadell

Two sides of Sabadell: culture and nature

Fundació 1859 Caixa Sabadell works across social, cultural, educational, civic, economic, and environmental programs. Its activities center on two places: Espai Cultura and Espai Natura.

Espai Cultura

This center brings together the arts, education, and technology through exhibitions and cultural events. It also houses Cafè dels Jardinets, a café with indoor seating and a garden terrace. Each summer, its outdoor Jardinets amphitheater hosts Fresc Festival, an annual program of music, theater, and spoken-word events. The festival’s ninth edition recorded 3,300 tickets sold and six sold-out performances.

Espai Natura

North of Sabadell, Espai Natura occupies 86 hectares of protected woodland that Caixa Sabadell saved from development in 1964 and turned into an environmental activities center. The grounds include Masia de Can Deu, documented since 1415; the Museu de la Vida al Camp; Can Deu forest; a farm; and the church of Sant Vicenç de Verders, recovered from the Sau reservoir. School programs serve all grade levels, while other activities include summer programs for children and teens, guided farm visits, and family workshops.

Venues for events

The foundation rents flexible spaces for conventions, business events, presentations, and performances, with combinations of rooms and catering available. The Saló Modernista, one of Sabadell’s notable heritage spaces, can host cultural, institutional, and corporate gatherings.
