Moehs Group is an industrial holding company that brings together several manufacturing plants focused on developing and producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for the global pharmaceutical industry. Its core business is API manufacturing and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services, supporting partners from development through commercial production.

Experience and Reach

The company reports more than 60 years of industry experience and a presence in more than 90 countries, supported by an international network of sales agents and business partners. It operates a research center dedicated to process development and analytical work, optimization, scale-up, and technology transfer for APIs.

Quality and Compliance

All activities are carried out in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout the product life cycle. The company has quality-control and regulatory-management operations and publishes information about its carbon footprint and environmental certifications.

Research and Development Projects

Moehs Group has taken part in research and development projects funded by CDTI, Spain's Center for Technological Development and Innovation, and the European Union. These have included:

• Synthesis of an active ingredient that stimulates soluble guanylate cyclase, with an eligible budget of €1,862,213 and a 2022–2024 project period, carried out at the Rubí facility.
• Synthesis of a Janus kinase inhibitor for atopic dermatitis, with an eligible budget of €1,940,409 and a 2022–2025 project period, also carried out in Rubí.

Moehs Cantabra has also installed photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 531.85 kWp. The €58,666.92 grant was funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU, IDAE, and the Government of Cantabria.
