Vehicle sale notice service

Notificaciones DGT is the online service of Gestoría del Turia, a licensed administrative services firm with a physical office in Riba-roja de Túria, Valencia. It handles vehicle sale notices for cars and motorcycles with Spain’s Directorate General for Traffic (DGT) nationwide. The seller is required to file this notice within 10 business days of signing the bill of sale.

The service includes electronic filing of the notice and issuance of a Provisional Circulation Authorization, electronically signed by the DGT and emailed to the customer as a PDF. The company says the average processing time is 15 minutes and that the registration appears immediately in the miDGT app.

Required documents

The process requires five documents, which can be sent as phone photos without a scanner or printer:

• Seller’s national ID or foreign resident ID (front and back), required
• Buyer’s national ID or foreign resident ID (front and back), required
• Bill of sale signed by both parties, required
• Vehicle inspection card (ITV), optional
• Vehicle registration certificate, optional

The company says the documents are used only for this process and are deleted when it is complete, in accordance with the GDPR.

Who it serves

The service is for both sellers and buyers. The seller receives official proof that they are no longer responsible for the vehicle, helping avoid later fines, vehicle registration tax, and potential civil claims. The buyer receives a Provisional Authorization that allows them to drive legally for 30 days, get insurance in their own name, pass the vehicle inspection, and have time to complete the permanent title transfer.
