DBK Observatorio Sectorial is the Informa D&B brand for industry and competitor analysis. Informa D&B, a subsidiary of CESCE, absorbed its investee company DBK in July 2015 and became Spain's first company specializing in industry studies.

Coverage and publications

The company continuously tracks about 600 sectors in Spain and Portugal. It publishes nearly 300 in-depth reports and more than 1,000 market-update briefs each year. Its products include Sector Reports, Sector Reports Basic, Special Reports, Competitors, Portugal Sector Reports, Sector Ratios, CNAE+50, and Trend Industria. Coverage spans real estate, food and beverage, construction and building materials, distribution, transportation equipment, finance and insurance, wood and furniture, electrical and electronic machinery, metals and non-electrical machinery, paper and printing, chemicals and petroleum, business services, textiles and apparel, transportation and communications, and tourism, leisure, culture, and healthcare.

Research methods

Research draws on primary sources, including more than 2,000 annual interviews with executives, as well as secondary sources such as company annual reports and financial statements, databases, specialized publications, business associations, and government agencies. The company uses B2B and B2C market analysis and financial and statistical analysis, with an emphasis on quality control and meeting publication commitments.

Clients

Clients include major Iberian financial institutions, public agencies responsible for economic and industrial policy, leading consulting firms, and more than 1,000 industrial and service companies in Spain and Portugal.
