Industrial Roller Coatings

TecnoCaucho Rolls & Covers manufactures coatings and coverings for industrial rollers and technical parts. With 60 years of experience, it serves the paper, tissue, steel, printing, plastics, wood, and textile industries, among others.

Coating Divisions and Technologies

The company organizes its work into four specialized divisions:

• Rubber: More than 300 rubber elastomer formulations for different industrial sectors.
• Polyurethane: Coatings for rollers, wheels, and technical parts with a broad range of properties.
• Composites: Coatings used especially in papermaking, including covered rollers and presses for high pressures and speeds.
• Thermal spray: Uses high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) to apply high-melting-point coatings without raising the temperature of the part.

Production Capacity

The company lists the following maximum machining capacities:

• Parts to be coated: up to 12 meters long, 2.3 meters in diameter, and 64,000 kg.
• Roller grinding: up to 11 meters long, 1.8 meters in diameter, and 64,000 kg.
• Roller balancing: up to 14 meters long and 64,000 kg.

Research, Development, and Projects

TecnoCaucho holds Spain’s Innovative SME designation and participates in publicly funded research and development projects. These include:

• AL-TRAT (IDI-20240394): Developing industrial coatings comparable to hard chrome without using hexavalent chromium, with alternatives such as trivalent chromium, multilayer electroless nickel, and HVOF/APS thermal spray. The project received €394,259.75 in funding from CDTI and NextGenerationEU/ERDF funds.
• PUR3TEC (INNCAD/2025/27): Research into recovering polyurethane waste and converting it into new circular products, with a €116,905.10 grant from the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI).
• Rubber byproduct reuse (INNEST/2024/447): A project to optimize rubber-waste devulcanization, funded by ERDF through IVACE+i with an investment of €212,643.88.
• Collaboration with AIMPLAS: Development of new technical coatings for guide rollers and calenders in paper machines, funded by IVACE and ERDF (project IMIDTA/2016/116, grant of €25,156).

Grants and Recognition

The company has received public grants to modernize its facilities and improve competitiveness, including:

• Grant INPYME/2025/215 from the Valencian Department of Innovation, Industry, Trade, and Tourism to acquire a 3D measurement system, totaling €28,754.36.
• IVACE support for installing electric-vehicle charging infrastructure at its Quart de Poblet facility, including a 22-kW charger, with 30% funding from NextGenerationEU.
• Grant INPYME/2022/838 for implementing new turning technologies, with a project budget of €93,221.50 and a grant of €32,627.53.
• A grant for new rubber-coating technologies, with a budget of €165,000 and a grant of €57,750, enabling the purchase of a roller-coating machine for rollers up to 12 meters long and 1,200 mm in diameter.
• Participation in the ICEX-DANA program, supported by ICEX and co-funded by NextGenerationEU.
• Valencian Government internationalization grant INTPRM/2022/851, totaling €19,120.43.
