Loro Parque

A Puerto de la Cruz wildlife park with themed animal habitats, gardens, educational presentations, and conservation programs.

About Loro Parque

From a parrot park to a full-day visit

Loro Parque began in Tenerife in 1972 as a small project centered on parrots. Its visitor experience has since grown into a network of themed habitats and gardens, including Planet Penguin, Katandra Treetops, Coral Kingdom, and Aquaviva. Moving between those settings gives the visit more shape than a single walk through animal enclosures: each area focuses on a different environment and group of species.

The park’s daily program includes presentations and educational activities, while Loro Parque Fundación supports conservation and research projects. The plant life is part of the setting, too, with palms, orchids, ficus, and cacti used to create enriched environments. Visitors who plan around the official program can combine the exhibits, gardens, and presentations into a longer day in Puerto de la Cruz.
