History

Elisardo Tarela founded the company in Pontecesures, Pontevedra, in 1939, initially delivering fresh milk. Nestlé in Pontecesures was its first customer. The business began with one truck making two daily routes. The family company later passed to Elvira Pereiro, who operated it as Vda. de Tarela, before Luis Tarela founded Transportes Luis Tarela S.L.

In the 1960s, the company added tanker trucks for full-load shipments and established regional collection centers. Until the middle of that decade, it operated only in Galicia; in the 1970s it expanded across Spain and diversified its customers and cargo. In the 1980s, it began adapting to the European market, obtaining certifications and European Union permits to operate throughout the EU. The company reports more than 80 years of industry experience.

Fleet and Logistics

The company operates specialized vehicles for liquid food transportation, equipped with GPS systems that allow shipments to be tracked in real time from its headquarters. It handles the loading, transportation, and delivery of each shipment.
