Power-Factor Correction and Harmonic Filtering

RTR Energía is a Spanish company focused on power-factor correction and harmonic filtering. It describes itself as Spain’s only manufacturer of power-factor correction capacitors. Founded in 1979 as DNA Energía, a department of Grupo DNA, the company was sold in 1996 and became RTR Energía under its current team. In 2024, it joined Grupo Arteche to support international growth and expand its technological capabilities.

Products and Solutions

The company manufactures and sells a broad range of energy-efficiency equipment across several product lines:

• Low-voltage power capacitors: three-phase DWCAP, MA/C/CE/TER, BO/R, and ARM series, and single-phase EA models
• Protected low-voltage indoor and outdoor capacitors: PRBA-PRBD, PR00-PRC0, PRCT, PRF0, PRFT, and C1 series
• Low-voltage capacitor banks in compact configurations (COMPACT-2, COMPACT-3-R, COMPACT-4, COMPACT-7, and COMPACT-9), as well as modular and harmonic-filtered versions (ARM, ST-STF, ES-ESF, ES, ESF, and ESH-ESFH)
• Single- and three-phase medium-voltage capacitors and medium-voltage capacitor banks
• Power-electronics capacitors for AC filtering and DC links
• Active (SVG), passive, and sine-wave harmonic filters
• Filtering, line, output, and shunt reactors; isolation, switching, medical-use, and railway transformers; autotransformers; converters; coils; and chokes
• Switchgear and auxiliary equipment, including thyristor-based static contactors, electromagnetic contactors, fast-discharge resistors, load-break switches, molded-case and automatic circuit breakers, residual-current devices, and miniature circuit breakers
• Measurement equipment, including reactive-power controllers (PR-14D, PR-14D8/96, PR-12D, and PR-15D), panel meters and analyzers (RTR-M3 and RTR-MM01), current transformers, summation transformers, and split-core transformers
• Lighting and motor capacitors

Manufacturing and International Reach

With more than 45 years of experience from 1979 to 2024, RTR Energía operates a factory in Pinto, Madrid, and a sales network throughout Spain. The company reports a presence in more than 60 countries and has completed domestic and international projects, including capacitor banks of up to 60 MVAR at solar and wind farms in Spain and equipment supply projects in Portugal and Djibouti.
