Karbest is a Spanish company that designs and manufactures high-end folding cartons. Fernando Alfonso Marín, an engineer trained in printing and packaging engineering in Germany, founded it in 1976. For nearly five decades, the company has specialized in designing and producing paperboard boxes for consumer brands. Its factory and headquarters are in the La Pascualeta Industrial Park in Paiporta, Valencia, Spain.

History and Specialization

The company began by serving local industry, then developed an export focus that brought it into the European market. In 1990, Sabrina Alfonso Riedelsheimer joined the family business. After working in several departments, she became sales director and, in 2010, general manager. Karbest has remained focused on folding cartons, building deep manufacturing expertise and an established position as a European supplier.

Awards and Trade Shows

The company has received several awards for packaging quality and innovation. In 2023, it won a Gold Award at the Pro Carton/ECMA Awards for “Valrhona — 6 Carrés de Chocolat Noir,” a package designed to reduce components and eliminate the plastic tray. In 2018, it received an IPA Selection Award for Innovation in the Miscellaneous category for the “Visualfy Home” project. At an earlier Pro Carton/ECMA edition, it won first place in the European confectionery category. It was also a finalist at the 2014 Inspirational Packaging Awards (IPA).

Karbest regularly participates in international industry trade shows, including PCD Paris (Paris Packaging Week), with appearances in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022 through 2026.

Environmental Commitment

The company has installed solar panels at its facilities to reduce emissions and move toward more sustainable operations.
