The company is located in the wine-producing region of Rioja Alavesa, in Oyón, Álava, Spain. Its site covers 50,000 square meters, with 20,000 square meters of facilities across six departments: laminating, prepress, varnishing, printing, cutting, and warehousing.

Technology and Certifications

Litalsa is known for adopting advanced lithography technology. It was an early adopter of UV-curing inks and was the first in Europe to earn ISO certification for its offset-printing color-management system. Recent milestones include installing a six-color MetalStar4 UV press with the METALCONTROL system in 2025 and a KBA 480 varnishing machine in early 2026. The new machine applies UV varnish using anilox technology, which supports energy savings and avoids emissions.

The company holds FSSC 22000, BRCGS PACK, IFS PACsecure, ISO 22000, HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SMETA 4-Pillar, and Carbon Footprint Registry certifications. It is also affiliated with the Sedex platform.

History

Founded in 1972, Litalsa marked its 50th anniversary in 2022. Its awards include the 2015 KBA Best Printer in the World award, the Álava Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Internationalization Award, and inclusion among the 10 best European companies at the 2016 European Business Awards.
