A century of care in Olot

Fundació La Caritat is a nonprofit organization in Olot, Girona province, that describes itself as a resource center for people who need long-term care. Founded in 1914 to serve people living in poverty, it has since specialized in care for people with support needs. Today its work centers on two services: assisted living and an adult day center.

Services and capacity

• Assisted living: 61 places, with individualized care intended to support the independence of people who need assistance for social, emotional, physical, psychological, or financial reasons.
• Adult day center: 15 places, open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the week. The service allows people to maintain family life while receiving social and personal care temporarily or on an ongoing basis.

Who it serves

The services are intended for older adults with varying levels of support needs and their families. Support may be ongoing in the residence or provided during the day.
