Mas el Negre

A restored farmhouse in the Girona Pre-Pyrenees

Mas el Negre is a rural hostel and activity center in the Ripollès district of Girona's Pre-Pyrenees. The building is a restored 14th-century farmhouse associated with Fundació Vidabona, a nonprofit organization. It welcomes retreats, workshops, creative stays, team-building gatherings, forest-bathing activities, and individual bookings.

Rooms and capacity

The farmhouse has eight rooms and an apartment, with total capacity for 25 to 30 guests. Retreats and workshops are limited to 22 participants. Camping plots are also available.

Activities

Fundació Vidabona organizes its own activities, including:

• Introduction to Globàlium
• Vidabona walks
• Nonviolent communication
• Cultural events
• Nonviolence summer school
• Mindful family stays

The venue also hosts outside activities that encourage personal and collective growth, with quiet and nature central to the setting.

Fundació Vidabona

The nonprofit's work follows three themes linked to the legacy of Lluís M. Xirinacs: a path toward wholeness through self-knowledge; Globàlium, a philosophical model intended to broaden perception and support conflict resolution; and demòtica, the power of self-organized communities through nonviolence, dialogue, and consensus. The foundation encourages co-creation and has volunteer and support groups for maintenance, communications, and administration.

Practical details

The hostel is registered with the Direcció General de Joventut under number 633. Accommodation services are managed by Les Groc, an organization separate from Fundació Vidabona.
