Extra school meals for families to take home

Sabor Solidario is a program run by Soul 21, S.L. that lets families whose children eat at school purchase additional meals to take home. It describes the food as healthy, balanced, and freshly prepared. The meals are sold at an accessible price by using the school's own facilities and staff.

How it works

• Families download an app and accept the registration terms.
• They request extra meals before 9 a.m. and can book for entire weeks or months.
• The catering company prepares the portions ordered.
• Students or their families collect the meals when school ends.
• The school bills families monthly by bank debit and transfers the payment to the caterer.
• The caterer donates 33% of the amount collected each month to Fundación Spínola.

What the program aims to do

The initiative seeks to help family budgets with balanced meals at accessible prices, make work and family life easier to coordinate, raise money for social causes through Fundación Spínola, reduce food waste, and lower CO₂ emissions associated with food production.
