Public safety and animal protection
The Association of Police Officers for the Protection of Animals and Biodiversity (APDA) is a national nonprofit made up of members of Spain’s law-enforcement and security services—police officers, Civil Guard members, and environmental agents—with support from other professionals. It was incorporated as a legal entity in 2015 and is registered in the National Registry of Associations under number 608058 (tax ID G26527630).
Its goal is to improve how public services protect animals and biodiversity by promoting a more effective, humane, and transparent approach that takes both public concern and public safety into account.
