Keeping Serra do Courel active year-round

Asociación Serra do Caurel is a Galicia nonprofit behind a collaborative project to support and preserve life in the Serra do Courel. Its work centers on sustainable tourism, culture, local products, and events that keep the area active throughout the year.

Activities and events

The association organizes and takes part in cultural and rural-development initiatives. One is CourelSon, an outdoor jazz and blues concert series held at different sites across Serra do Courel. The 2026 festival was its eighth edition. The group also promotes volunteer days, poster competitions, eclipse-watching activities, and other events connected to the area's cultural life.

Exhibitions and local information

The project includes a photography exhibition and a permanent exhibition called Os Padernes, both intended to introduce visitors to Courel's cultural, anthropological, and environmental heritage. Its website and social channels share routes, activities, and information about the area.
