Fundación Ferama

Human rights and community programs

Fundación Ferama is a nonprofit established in 2007. Its work focuses on human rights, social inclusion, education, culture, and sustainability. It is based in the municipality of Nogueira de Ramuín in the province of Ourense, Galicia.

Areas of work

• Human rights and justice: support for survivors of violence and promotion of constitutional values.
• Inclusion and social well-being: social services, health, employment, and integration for people at risk of exclusion.
• Education, culture, and science: support for education, culture, and scientific development.
• Sustainability and civic participation: volunteering, social enterprise, development cooperation, and environmental protection.

Activities and facilities

The foundation has computer-equipped classrooms for English, introductory computer skills, and new-technology courses, as well as educational games and workshops. It also organizes job-skills and training workshops, personal-development courses, talks and conferences on social and cultural topics, community events, volunteer activities, inclusion and assistance programs, social-enterprise gatherings, awareness events, sports and recreation, and environmental-protection projects.

Public library

The library has a public area of 44.65 square meters and a 30-square-meter book storage room that is not open to visitors. Services include home lending, bibliographic information, children's and teen sections, in-library use, a study room, and a reading-promotion area. The library is part of the Public Libraries Network of Galicia.
