Manufacturas Polisac

Flexible Plastic Packaging

Manufacturas Polisac, S.A. is a Spanish company founded in 1966 by Antonio Navarro to manufacture flexible plastic containers and packaging. Its plant is in Nava de la Asunción, Segovia, on a 10,000-square-meter site with 7,000 to 8,000 square meters of covered factory and office space.

The company describes itself as one of Spain’s leading manufacturers by volume of polyethylene processed and as the country’s largest maker—and one of Europe’s largest—of plastic courier mailers and high-security bank bags. More than half its production is exported to countries in Europe, Africa, and South America.

Products

• Courier and e-commerce bags
• Security and cash-in-transit bags
• Airport security tamper-evident bags (STEBs)
• Removable-adhesive bags
• Film for automatic packaging
• Sacks
• Other flexible packaging products

All products are custom-made for each customer. Polisac holds its own utility models for banking, cash-in-transit, and e-commerce bags, and works with security companies to develop new products.

Production Capabilities

Polisac handles the full manufacturing process, from converting polyethylene pellets into film through final finishing. Its equipment includes single-layer and coextrusion lines suitable for virgin, recycled, or biodegradable materials. Printing uses photo-quality systems with up to eight colors at speeds of up to 400 meters per minute. Finishing can reach 200 cuts per minute and includes adhesive application, double, single, or flat side seals, bottom seals, sequential numbering, and barcodes. The company also has an automated safety-stock warehouse integrated with its industrial systems.
