Capers and olives from Nacimiento

Luxeapers is a food company based in Nacimiento, Almería. For more than 60 years it has made pickled products and olives, selling under its Luxeapers and Framar labels and producing for retailers and importers’ own brands.

Products

Its range covers pickles and olives in numerous formats and weights, including:

• Sliced and pitted black olives, plus whole, pitted, and pepper-stuffed green olives.
• Capers graded as Nonpareille, Surfines, Capucines, Fines, and Capotes; large, medium, and small caperberries; and salt-packed capers.
• Gherkins, small onions, hot peppers, green and pink peppercorns, jalapeños, and piri piri peppers.
• Garlic cloves in vinegar, chili oil, or herb oil.
• Sun-dried tomatoes in herb oil, lemons, garlic salad, and mixed vegetables.

The company lists containers and codes including 12 par, 16 par, 212 mL, A-370, V-370, V-720, 2.5 cyl, 3.5 cyl, 5 cyl, gallon and fractional-gallon sizes, a Portuguese-style jar, and 5-ounce packs. Net and drained weights depend on the product.

Production and exports

Luxeapers reports output of more than 100,000 jars a day and turnover of more than 20 million. It says it exports to over 115 countries, under its own labels and private labels adapted to each market.

Factory and process

The company has two flexible, multiproduct production lines. Its current plant was established in 2012 and uses automated container sanitation, pasteurization of all products, and X-ray inspection for foreign objects.
