What Clavicémbalo is

Clavicémbalo is a content and affiliate website focused on keyboards and plucked-string instruments, particularly the harpsichord. It combines product links with introductory material about the instrument as a predecessor of the modern piano.

Content and products

The site organises links and information into:

• Keyboards
• Metronomes, tuners, tuning keys, tuning forks, manuscript paper, lights, benches and music stands
• Vinyl records and CDs
• Technology
• Scores
• Learning books and books by composers or specialist authors

It also publishes essays and material on humidity, an important consideration in conserving wooden instruments.

Business model

The site participates in the Amazon EU Associates Program and earns commission on qualifying purchases made through its links, without a separate charge from the affiliate site to the buyer. The actual seller, price, stock, delivery and return contract are determined on the linked retailer’s page.

Harpsichord background

The site describes the harpsichord as a plucked-string keyboard instrument originating in 14th-century Europe, prominent in the Baroque period and classical music through the 18th century. It refers to Bach, Domenico Scarlatti and François Couperin and to the instrument’s 20th-century revival.

Before buying, identify the contractual seller and verify instrument specification, condition, tuning and maintenance needs, delivery, warranty and returns. Editorial descriptions and affiliate placement are not independent endorsements.
