Bones of Minerva

Progressive rock and metal from Spain

Bones of Minerva formed in 2013 with Chloé on bass, Eustaquia on vocals, and Ruth on guitar. Nerea joined on drums in early 2018. The band blends metal, progressive rock, and post-rock, pairing introspective lyrics and progressive rhythms with vocals that move between hypnotic melodies and growls.

Albums and record label

The band’s first album, Blue Mountains (2017), was initially self-released and reissued the following year by Nooirax and La Rubia Producciones. In 2022, Bones of Minerva signed with Spanish label Aloud Music, home to bands including Toundra and Viva Belgrado, and released the single Swamp on 7-inch vinyl. Its second album, Embers, came out on September 16, 2022. It was recorded live at Metropol Studios in Madrid with producer Alex Cappa.

Festivals and touring

Bones of Minerva has played festivals including Download Madrid, Resurrection Fest, Azkena Rock in the Basque Country, and ArcTanGent in Bristol. Festival bills have also included artists such as Melvins, Iggy Pop, Converge, GGGOLDDD, Loathe, and Brutus. In 2023, the band completed its first UK tour and a European tour supporting British band Svalbard.
