Support for people experiencing vulnerability

Fundación FADE (Ayuda, Desarrollo y Educación) is a nonprofit based in Murcia that has operated since 2004. It works to improve quality of life for people experiencing vulnerability in the Region of Murcia through four main areas: volunteering and training, employment, family support, and international development.

Programs and services

  • Secunda: Volunteering and social-skills training for people experiencing vulnerability.
  • Aporta: A job board and free employment-placement service for women facing social disadvantage, with training workshops. It connects households and businesses with qualified workers in cleaning, older-adult care, child care, and cooking.
  • Valora: Workshops, consulting, and resources to strengthen families and relationships. Family counseling provides individual support on couples' communication, parent-child relationships, work-life balance, household organization, the Creighton Model, in-home care for older adults, and caregiver burnout.
  • International Development: Projects to reduce inequality for women, young people, and children, with work in Bolivia, India, Kenya, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
  • Talante Solidario: Training, practice, and certification in soft skills for volunteers at social-service organizations.
  • Older-adult companionship: A volunteer program for older people who need support and company.

Volunteering

The volunteer intake process includes an application, an information session, submission of documents through an online platform, selection of a service and schedule, and then the start of volunteering. The foundation asks volunteers to contribute about two hours per week. It holds regular information sessions in Murcia at Centro Cultural Las Claras, 1 Calle Santa Clara, 30008, and in Cartagena at the Official Language School, 12 Ronda de Ferrol, 30203, and La Milagrosa, Calle Sor Francisca Armendáriz, no number. The foundation also anticipates opening in Albacete.
