About Consultoría Técnica de Control (C.T.C.)

What C.T.C. is

Consultoría Técnica de Control, S.L., known as C.T.C., is a technical-control organization in the Murcia region. It describes itself as legally and financially independent from developers, builders, architecture firms, laboratories and insurers involved in a construction project. Its principal field is building control, particularly the reviews required for Spain's ten-year structural-damage insurance, or Seguro Decenal.

Main services

C.T.C. reviews structural safety and damage prevention both for ten-year insurance and for projects outside the insurance process.

  • Technical control for ten-year insurance: verification of structural strength and stability, geotechnical studies and foundation solutions; review of design calculations, loads, resistance and deformation; seismic-code compliance; and technical documentation for construction materials. The process includes the Spanish D0, D0.1, D1.1 and D1.2 reports and execution-control reports D5.1, D5.2, D5.3 and D6.
  • Services outside insurance: technical assistance to construction management, project-management systems, structural calculations, design and execution quality control, building-systems and finish inspections, acoustic control, energy efficiency, inspections of existing buildings, technical and loss reports, expert analysis of defects, construction audits, valuation of work in progress, rehabilitation studies, review of material and systems testing, and preparation of the building record.

Team

The team includes civil engineers, architects, technical architects, geologists, mining and industrial technical engineers and public-works assistants with construction and quality-control experience.

The firm's independence is central to its role: it examines the structure, documentation and execution on behalf of the control process rather than acting as the designer, builder or insurer.
