University tourism studies

The Open Faculty is a university studies center and official campus of the University of Murcia’s Faculty of Tourism. Its main program is the official four-year bachelor’s degree in tourism, combining classroom learning with practical experience and accredited by ANECA.

Bachelor’s degree in tourism

The degree is offered online and in person and was scheduled to begin on September 7, 2026. The curriculum is designed around an even split between hands-on learning and theory, with digital resources, case studies, and other activities. Courses are taught in Spanish and include individualized advising, live interaction with instructors, discussion forums, and real-time answers to questions.

The program emphasizes digital skills, sustainable tourism, digital marketing for tourism, hotel management, destination planning, and tourism experiences. It also includes extensive language instruction.

Internships and study abroad

The center has more than 300 internship agreements with companies in Spain and abroad. As part of the University of Murcia, it also offers international exchange programs across five continents.

Career paths

Graduates can pursue tourism marketing and communications, consulting and project development, destination planning and booking services, lodging management, tourism transportation and logistics, public-sector work, academia, and research.
