About Araparda - Asociación de Criadores de Raza Bovina Parda de Montaña
Supporting the Mountain Brown cattle breed
Araparda is an association of Mountain Brown cattle breeders founded in 2001. Its work focuses on conserving the breed, which Spain’s official livestock-breed catalog recognizes as an indigenous breed for development. The association brings together ranchers and farms raising these cattle.
A hardy mountain breed
The Mountain Brown is a hardy, adaptable breed with a calm temperament, raised using traditional management systems. The association says its husbandry contributes to biodiversity and extensive livestock systems.
Member network
Araparda brings together more than 550 farms across the Iberian Peninsula, making it a representative organization for the sector.
