Natural crop protection and nutrition

Altinco is an agrochemical company headquartered in Mollerussa, Lleida, Spain. It designs and manufactures natural, residue-free products under its proprietary Altinco Exact Nature® formulation. A group of chemists founded the company in 1994, building on the use of natural extracts as an alternative to conventional crop-protection products. Altinco has operated a factory in Mollerussa since its founding.

Products and activities

Its catalog is organized into two main product families:

• Plant Guards: Crop-care and protection products designed to support residue-free fruit production. The line includes Altinco Grinward®, a contact insecticide made with 20% paraffin oil for aphids, psyllids, and whiteflies. The product is approved for use on a broad range of crops and certified for organic farming.
• Plant Boosters: Biostimulants and nutrients intended to strengthen crops and support productivity.

Altinco says its formulations are designed to respect beneficial insects, avoid treatment resistance, and fit integrated pest management (IPM) strategies combining biological, cultural, and biochemical methods.

Markets and customers

Altinco describes itself as a multinational company and distributes its formulations in more than 21 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Africa through more than 200 distributors. It serves companies in the sector and farmers, offering technical advice. It has offices in Colombia and Morocco, in addition to its Spanish headquarters.

Quality control

The company follows a two-step quality-control process: it evaluates raw materials before manufacturing and tests products before packaging to check stability. Monitoring covers the production chain from raw-material purchasing through the customer’s use of the product.
