Conformados Metálicos de Galicia, S.A. (Comegasa) is a Galician company founded in 1988 that manufactures sandwich panels and building systems for metal envelopes, serving industrial and general construction. The company describes itself as the only manufacturer of sandwich panels and metal-envelope building systems in Galicia.

Manufacturing capabilities

• Continuous sandwich-panel line: steel coils are profiled and chemicals for different types of polyurethane are injected. A curing press and corona treatment bond the polyurethane to the steel to create a self-supporting sandwich panel. Continuous production allows custom lengths, with common thicknesses from 30 to 80 mm.
• Cold-formed sheet line: profiles sheet from 0.20 to 1 mm thick in two profiles (30/208 and 40/190).
• 6,100 mm sheet-shearing and bending line: with multiple dies for manufacturing accessories used to install architectural panels and sheet metal.

Quality and certifications

The company manages its processes under the international UNE-EN ISO 9001 standard and monitors its raw-material suppliers. Listed certifications include the PIR panel certificate (ER 0095-2000, valid through January 24, 2027), IQNet certificate ES 0095-2000 (January 24, 2027), and AITEX fire certificate bs2do. Research, development, and energy efficiency

Comegasa has established an R&D department to develop new applications and invested in its quality department with new laboratories. With support from an energy-saving and efficiency grant program from the Galician Energy Institute for industrial and service projects (file IN417Y-16A365, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the 2014–2020 Feder-Galicia operational program), the company conducted an energy audit to assess its production process and implement measures to reduce consumption.
