Plastic Compounds Manufacturing

CYGSA is a Spanish manufacturer of plastic compounds, primarily PVC compounds, as well as halogen-free compounds made on extrusion and gravimetric-dosing lines. Based in Mendavia, Navarra, the company has annual production capacity approaching 25,000 metric tons.

Products and Applications

The company organizes its products into two main families:

• PVC compounds
• Polyolefin compounds

These materials serve applications in the automotive, energy and telecommunications, electrical, construction, footwear, and other industrial sectors.

Technical Capabilities

CYGSA operates extrusion lines from internationally recognized manufacturers, including BUSS, COPERION, and WERNER-PFLEIDERER, to develop high-quality compounds. Its laboratory has equipment for quality control and product development, including extruders, durometers, a universal testing machine, melt-flow and limiting-oxygen-index testing equipment, a rheometer, plastograph, and extrusometer.

Corporate Group

Since 2009, CYGSA has been part of Japan's SHIN-ETSU Group, along with Portuguese companies PREVINIL and CIRES. SHIN-ETSU CHEMICAL is the world's largest PVC resin manufacturer. Within the group, CYGSA and PREVINIL make up the thermoplastic-compounds business unit in the European PVC division.

• PREVINIL: Based in Alverca, north of Lisbon, with approximate capacity of 15,000 metric tons of PVC compounds per year and a specialty in food-grade compounds and rigid films.
• CIRES: Based in Estarreja, near Porto, it supplies PVC resin to both plants in the group and has production capacity of more than 200,000 metric tons of PVC resin per year.

Sustainability

The company says it is committed to sustainability and reports that a 2025 climate-protection initiative saved 43,227 kilograms of greenhouse-gas emissions.
