TEC Container (Container Spreaders)

Container-handling equipment for ports

TEC Container is a Spanish company founded in 1976 that designs and manufactures container-handling equipment, primarily spreaders—the lifting devices that connect cranes to containers. Through containerspreaders.com, it presents itself as a strategic supplier to the port industry, with equipment in major ports around the world and commercial representatives in dozens of countries.

Spreader products

The company offers spreaders for different container types and operating environments:

• Fully electric spreaders
• Semiautomatic spreaders
• Industrial spreaders
• Forklift spreaders
• Easy Spreaders
• Overheight frames compatible with all of its spreaders

The website says its equipment is compatible with all types of shipping containers, crane brands and models, and operating environments or project types.

Experience and manufacturing

TEC Container reports more than 50 years of combined experience in container handling and says it has manufactured approximately 3,000 spreaders over the past 25 years. It provides detailed product specifications and a downloadable catalog available after registration.

Certifications and testing

Each spreader is supplied with a Declaration of Conformity under Directive 2006/42/EC. The company says third-party load-test certification is available through Bureau Veritas, that each twistlock is individually tested and marked under UNE EN 13155 (July 2003), and that steel wire ropes are manufactured to UNE EN-13414-1:2004.
