Overheight frames for out-of-gauge cargo

OHFrames is TEC Container’s specialized website for port equipment used to lift oversized cargo beneath a spreader. The company provides information and guidance on four overheight-frame models and on safer, more efficient ways to handle oversized, overheight, and out-of-gauge cargo.

Frames and operating levels

The frames are designed for flat racks, open-top containers, and platforms, and are compatible with spreaders on the market. Models are available for different levels of out-of-gauge cargo activity:

• OHFRAME BA-030E: Reinforced, fully automatic, and universal. Features high-quality inductive sensors, linear actuators, a PLC and display, twin-mode detection plates, and floating twistlocks. Designed for intensive use, with Wi-Fi for maintenance and real-time information and solar power.
• OHFRAME BA-030H: Fully mechanical and universal, compatible with all spreaders and cranes. Designed for moderate use and fully autonomous.
• OHFRAME BA-030R: Mechanical, fully autonomous, and designed for moderate use.
• OHFRAME BA-030M: Manual, for terminals that handle oversized cargo occasionally. Twistlocks are opened and closed manually; designed for light use.

Testing and certifications

Each frame includes a Declaration of Conformity under Directive 2006/42/EC. Third-party load-test certification is available through Bureau Veritas. Twistlocks are individually tested and marked under UNE EN 13155, July 2003.

Manufacturing and service network

TEC Container was founded in 1976 and serves the port industry as an equipment supplier. The company says it is present in major ports around the world and works with all parts of the supply chain. It reports producing about 500 overheight frames in the past 25 years.
