About Lashing Cages (TEC Container)
Safety cages for port workers
Lashingcages is TEC Container’s specialized website for safety cages and baskets used by port workers. The company designs and manufactures equipment intended to make work at height safer during port operations, particularly at container terminals, while also reducing operating costs.
Products
- Safety Cage Under Spreader BA-185: A universal cage compatible with all existing spreaders and cranes, designed to make twistlocks accessible from above.
- Gondola Safety Cage BA-323: A cage designed to move between containers and specifically intended for ship-to-shore (STS) cranes.
- Modular Safety Cage BA-185T: A modular cage that allows different configurations for lashing work. It is universal and compatible with all spreaders and cranes.
- Under Hook Safety Cage BA-164: A family of safety baskets for work at height using a hook crane, suitable for ports, mining, and construction.
Equipment is available in different sizes, shapes, and load capacities to fit the operations of each port and container terminal.
Experience and global use
The company reports decades of activity and more than 200 units sold in 60 countries. Its structures are designed to work with spreaders and cranes on the market.
Standards and certifications
The under-spreader cages (BA-185 and BA-323) are outside the scope of European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and therefore do not carry CE marking. TEC Container says it follows major international rules and guidance, including ICHCA, ILO, BS, and LR, and updates designs to reflect local codes of practice. Some models have certifications under national standards in Australia, Russia, Spain, and other countries.
The under-hook cages (BA-164) are also outside the scope of European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and do not carry CE marking. They are designed in accordance with EN 14502-1 for equipment used to lift people in suspended baskets and NTP 956 for work platforms used with forklifts and cranes.
Industry standards work
TEC Container takes part in national, international, and local consultations to support clearer rules for lashing operations, drawing on its experience to improve worker safety through standards agreed on by stakeholders.
