Integrated health care in Manresa
Althaia is the University Health Care Network of Manresa, a health foundation based in Manresa, Barcelona. Its services span specialty care, primary care, intermediate care, private care, mental health, and social and health services.
Hospitals, clinics, and specialty services
The network includes a university hospital, Clínica Sant Josep, and CIMETIR, a sports medicine center. Specialty care includes medical and surgical services, maternal and child health, emergency care, critical care, diagnostics, and multidisciplinary clinics. Althaia also manages the Barri Antic and Les Bases primary care areas and mental health resources such as CSAM and an inpatient unit for children and teenagers.
Medical education and research
As a university hospital, Althaia provides specialty training and residencies for doctors, psychologists, nurses, and pharmacists, along with graduate programs, postgraduate courses, and clinical placements. Its research institute, IRIS-CC, supports research groups and participation in European, national, and regional projects, including PRAISE-U, a project on early prostate cancer detection.
